VCA Awarded Series of 2011-2012 Youth Program Grants from the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, Buffalo Bills Foundation, and Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo!

The Valley Community Association is pleased to announce receipt of several youth program grant funding awards for the 2011-2012 campaign.

•The Buffalo Sabres Foundation provided an award of $6,565 for administration, management, and equipment purchases to support a youth hockey league at the center!

•The Buffalo Bills Foundation provided an award of $2,500 to help support the employment of a physical education instructor at the center!

•The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo provided an award of $21,025 to support the after school art program at the center! The funds will offset equipment and art supply purchases, field trips, instructor salaries, and general administration needs. The VCA was one of only 19 entities to receive the full grant, out of roughly 152 local applicants. Nice work indeed!

VCA Board of Directors Applications Now Being Accepted

The Valley Community Association is now accepting applications for interested volunteers who would like to join the board of directors. Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter outlining the skills you would bring to the board as well as your passion for improving the quality of life for the residents of the Valley neighborhood.

All applicants will be considered, though all will not be selected. Please submit your appplication in-person or by e-mail to Peg Overdorf at poverdorf@thevalleycenter.com. All applicants must submit materials prior to October 5th, 2011. Thank you for your interest!
