Summer Day Camp at the Valley Community Center!

Campers will have a great time all summer long at the Valley Community Association's Summer Day Camp!! Kids ages 6 to 12 years old will make new friends, share wonderful experiences, and be immersed in both a fun and educational atmosphere. The camp is operated under the license of the New York State Office of Child and Family Services.

Camp Location & Activities

The Valley Community Association Summer Day Camp will be held at the Valley Child Care Center, located near the junction of South Park Avenue and Elk Street in South Buffalo.  Activities will be held in the adjacent Valley Nature Park and Habitat Trail.

Campers will participate in activities three days a week at the Valley Center and will spend two days off-site on field trips.

Activities will be structured, but varied, to avoid "summer vacation boredom" and will include:
  • Reading
  • Computer skill enhancement
  • Organized sports and fitness
  • Nutritional demonstrations
  • Dance
  • Scrap book and journal keeping
  • Photography
  • Educational demonstrations
  • Art
  • Field trips to all the fun summer places in Western New York
  • And lots more!!!
Food
 
Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily as well as a late afternoon snack.

Camp Counselors & Staff

Our Directos and Counselors have experience with children in our after school program and/or previous Summer Day Camp programs.  They are well trained to handle just about everything!
All Summer Day Camp staff have been cleared through reference checks and cleared through New York State for a criminal record. In addition each employee or volunteer has been the subject of an inquiry made to determine whether or not that person has been indicated in a report of child abuse or maltreatment on file with the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. All staff are First Aid and CPR certified as well.

Fees & Applications

Fees will be $125 per week with discounts available for siblings participating in Summer Day Camp. Assistance is available through the Erie County Department of Social Services (858-8000) for those that qualify.
